World Soils Day 2021

08 December 2021

This World Soils Day (5 December) Tried and Tested celebrated the hard work British farmers are doing to maintain and improve soil heath.

Soil is our most valuable natural resource. Keeping our soils healthy means improved productivity, a healthier environment and greater resilience to future climate change.

Healthy soils can:

  • Improve yields and support good crop growth on farms
  • Regulate the flow of water at times of drought or floods
  • Mitigate the effects of climate change through carbon capture
