Find an adviser

The following websites can be used to find contact details for sources of farm advice on nutrient management:

FACTS Qualified Advisers

There are currently over 3500 active FACTS Qualified Advisers (FQAs) throughout the UK. Although a voluntary scheme, the growth of FACTS membership reflects how the agricultural industry recognises the importance and benefit of qualified advice to promote farming systems that optimise crop nutrition and protect the quality of soil, water, air and farm biodiversity.
Find out more on the BASIS website.

Feed Adviser Register (FAR)

Since the launch of the Feed Adviser Register in 2013, over 1000 feed advisers from all over the UK have joined. The register was set up by AIC and the feed sector in response to the Governments’ commitment and industry and customer demands to reduce emissions from farmed livestock. Feed advisers have already demonstrated their knowledge in areas of animal nutrition, welfare, feeding efficiency and animal health with the completion of FAR Module 1 and 2. With the launch of FAR Module 3, feed advisers will receive training on Environmental Policy and the practical ways to mitigate emissions on farm. If you would like to check whether your FAR Adviser is registered, you can do this using the FAR status checker.

If you are not currently receiving feed nutritional advice and are interested in seeking input from a professional, please contact: Feed and FAR Technical support manager, Inge Verwoerd [email protected].

Only advisers are eligible for FAR membership, however, there are also various farmer CPD schemes, for these see DairyPro Scheme and the Pig Industry Professional Register.
